Lakeside’s History

      The Lakeside church was planted in the rapidly growing city of Mansfield, Texas in 1998.  Located in one of the fastest growing cities in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, we believe God has strategically located Lakeside to reach out to the 50,000+ citizens living in the greater Mansfield community.

      What began with only 35 people (including children), God has blessed with growth in both membership and spirituality.  Today, Lakeside consists of over 250 members which includes approximately 30 students (Jr. & Sr. High) with a large group of near 20 sixth graders prepared to join the youth group in the Fall of 2006.    We are struggling to reap the harvest God has created in this community.  To that end, we are finalizing plans to expand our existing facilities and always seeking innovative methods to do more with the facilities we have.  It is a welcome challenge.

      In 2006, God blessed Lakeside with 4 elders (Roy Bennett, Richard Calhoun, Mark Hudgens and Carl Pringle), along with 5 deacons, 1 Chaplain (Jim Cawyer) and a new Administrative Assistant (Lynnette Bailey).  Serving under the direction of the Eldership is the pulpit minister Shawn Williams and Youth Minister Micheal Felker.
